Garmin Trainer
What is the Garmin Trainer?
- The Garmin Trainer is Garmin's software simulation of the Garmin GNS 430W/530W running on the PC.
Why is Reality XP using the Garmin Trainer?
- Nearly all functions and features of the real GNS 430W/530W are simulated with the Garmin Trainer. It comes as a complete installer including the simulation software, a complete Jeppesen® navigation, terrain and obstacle database, and the complete GNS 430W/530W Pilot's guides and documentation.
Where can I find the Garmin Trainer?
- As a convenience to our customers, the Reality XP product installer includes the Garmin Trainer installer. During product installation, the installer starts the Garmin Trainer installer.
Do I have to run the Garmin Trainer when I use the Reality XP GNS 430W/530W?
- This is not necessary: the Reality XP GNS 430W/530W gauge automatically starts and stops the Garmin Trainer in the background.

The Garmin GNS 430W/530W XP simulation solution features:
- The gauge pack including the GNS gauges with the correct look and feel. This constitures the user interface from Flight Simulator.
- The Garmin Trainer simulation running in the background, wrapped into a unique Reality XP interface: GnsCore XP
GnsCore XP is our unique technology that integrates with the Garmin GNS WAAS Trainer program. This allows us to offer extended simulation and control capabilities to the GPS within Flight Simulation programs. GnsCore XP unpacks the 32 bits Trainer program from its Windows XP/Vista components while they are running in memory and wraps the GNS Simulation components into a simulation API:

Do I have to pay twice for FS9 and FSX?
- No. GNS 430W XP price includes both the FS9 and the FSX product. You can install to both Flight Simulator 9 and Flight Simulator X.
I'm a customer of the older GNS. What is the cost for the update to GNS WAAS?
- The GNS WAAS is a new product. Please make sure to review available special offers if applicable.
Do you offer volume licensing?
- At this time, Reality XP does not provides flexible volume software licensing plans for the Flight Simulator products. Volume licensing plans are available for our professional products.
Which Reality XP products are available at special prices for education customers?
- We do not offer prices for education customers at this time. Education customers prices are available for our professional products.

Just as creative professionals use watermarks to protect their intellectual property, Reality XP is using activation as a way to curtail unlicensed copying of its products.
